NDIS and My Aged Care
NDIS Funding
1. How YourVoice fits NDIS funding
YourVoice is an Assistive Technology (AT) solution.

It helps people with disability use their adjustable bed more safely and independently — which may make it eligible under NDIS Core Supports or Capital Supports, depending on the participant’s needs and goals.
Depending on the Participant's Plan in It may be funded as:
-
Low Cost Assistive Technology (LCAT) — if it helps the person perform daily tasks more independently.
-
Mid-cost Part of the bed cost — when prescribed as an integrated solution with the adjustable bed.

2. Funding for new installation (with a new bed)
We have found that the simplese path is often:

When someone is getting a new adjustable bed through their NDIS plan, the OT can also include YourVoice in the prescription.

The OT may need to included in their report explaining how YourVoice removes the need to handle remotes or awkward buttons, and assist with both independence and clinical outcomes in the context of the Participant's functional limitations
The usual process is:
-
The OT assesses the participant’s mobility, dexterity, and functional needs.
-
If YourVoice helps the person use their bed independently and safely, it’s reasonable and necessary under NDIS rules.
-
The supplier provides a single quote: Bed + YourVoice module.
-
The participant or their plan manager submits the quote with the NDIS funding request.
-
If approved, YourVoice is delivered and installed with the bed (or shortly after) — by YourVoice's team of Assistive Tech Specialists.

3. Funding as an add-on for an existing bed
If someone already has an adjustable bed, an OT can still recommend YourVoice:
-
This can often be fundered through Core Consumabvles as a Low-Cost Assistive Tech item.
-
Through a minor AT request (up to $1,500 is often automatically claimable with receipts — above that may need OT justification).
-
By updating the participant’s plan to include YourVoice as a necessary AT to maintain safety and independence.

4. Key points for the OT
When writing the AT prescription or justification, the OT should:
-
Explain how voice control reduces the risk of falls, strain or manual handling issues.
-
Note that the participant has difficulty using standard bed remotes due to mobility or dexterity limitations.
-
Confirm that YourVoice helps them meet an NDIS goal — e.g. “I want to live more independently and safely at home.”

5. Practical tips for families & retailers
-
Always ask the OT to include YourVoice in the original bed quote if possible.
-
The supplier or retailer should clearly break out YourVoice as a line item on the invoice.
-
Keep records of the OT’s recommendation and any trial or demonstration if needed.
-
Make sure there’s a clear support contact for setup and training (YourVoice can supply this).
For example
“Client requires an adjustable bed to manage pressure care. Due to severe arthritis and limited grip strength, they cannot reliably use the remote. Voice control will enable the client to adjust bed positions safely without assistance, supporting safe sleep and transfers at home.”
How funding can work through My Aged Care

YourVoice can also be funded under My Aged Care, either through a Home Care Package (HCP) or Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) if the client’s assessment shows they need assistive technology to help them live safely and independently at home.
My Aged Care Funding
1. Using a Home Care Package (HCP)
If an older person has a Home Care Package (Level 1–4), they may be able to use package funds to purchase YourVoice if:
-
It directly supports their care goals — for example, safer bed transfers, easier positioning or pressure care management.
-
It helps reduce reliance on carers or family for routine bed adjustments.
-
An OT or care coordinator includes it in the individual care plan.
How it works:
-
The OT or care coordinator recommends YourVoice as a practical assistive technology solution.
-
The cost can be included as a one-off purchase or spread over the package budget.
-
The provider or care manager approves it as reasonable and necessary.
-
Installation is quick and simple — the cost can be included in the quote.

2. Through the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP)
For older people on the CHSP, funding is more limited and usually covers entry-level supports.
However, if YourVoice helps the person stay safer and more independent — for example, by reducing falls risk or manual handling strain — an OT can recommend it under minor equipment or aids.
This may need additional co-contribution from the client or family, depending on their provider’s policies.

3. Key points for families and providers
-
Talk to your care coordinator or OT early — they can confirm if YourVoice meets the reasonable and necessary or low-level assistive tech guidelines.
-
Include the cost in the Care Plan or Service Agreement.
-
Keep receipts and documentation for funding records.
-
YourVoice can provide clear quotes and product information to help with approvals.
