Where a plan includes low-cost AT (Consumables) funding, the device may alternatively be claimed as Low Cost AT, with installation claimed as an associated Delivery support. Total investment: $2,490 one-time (device $1,490 + configuration, installation and training $1,000). No ongoing fees are required. Optional support plans are available for participants and families who want them.

 

What the Solution Delivers

YourVoice provides a complete assistive technology system designed to support independent bed mobility and overnight safety through voice control of the participant's existing electric adjustable bed.

 

One-Time Cost: $2,490

• YourVoice Device - Module supply and installation; existing handheld remote remains fully functional: $1,490

• Off-site Pre-Configuration - Account setup, WiFi binding, bed integration, base command set: $400

• On-site Calibration & Training - Commands customised to the participant, end-to-end testing, participant and carer training: $600

Outcome: the technician arrives with a working, pre-configured system. Minimal onsite time, and the participant and carer are trained and confident before we leave. Covered by warranty from day one.

 

Optional Support Plans

Most participants need no support after setup - issues, if any, almost always appear in the first 30 days and are covered by warranty. For participants and families who want ongoing peace of mind, optional plans provide:

• Remote-first support via phone, chat and remote sessions

• Proactive monitoring (where technically available)

• Software updates and security patches

• Configuration changes as needs change (reasonable use)

• Device replacement cover (one per 12-month period per active service year)

Plans: 1 year $800 · 3 years $1,200 · 5 years $1,600. Pay-as-you-go support is also available with no plan.

NDIS Classification Information

YourVoice may be classified through two pathways depending on how the participant's plan is structured. Support item references below are from the NDIS Assistive Technology, Home Modifications and Consumables Code Guide 2025-26.

 

Pathway A (most common): Mid-Cost Assistive Technology (Capital Supports)

NDIS Support Item: Environmental Control (ECU) / Safety-related Products - 05_241303121_0123_1_2 ("systems for operating domestic devices/features... from a distance"). Quote required. Delivery, setup and training may be claimed as a secondary support (Delivery - Household tasks or control AT - 05_711000080_0123_1_2).

The full $2,490 package sits in the mid-cost AT band ($1,500-$15,000), which typically requires written evidence of suitability from a qualified AT assessor (such as an OT) rather than a formal AT assessment.

 

Pathway B (where the plan includes low-cost AT funding): Low Cost AT (Core - Consumables)

Device ($1,490): Low Cost AT - Personal Care and Safety - 03_090000911_0103_1_1 (items costing less than $1,500).

Installation, configuration and training ($1,000): Delivery - Personal care, Safety and Disability-related Health Consumables - 03_710930080_0103_1_1. The Code Guide describes Delivery as covering "delivering equipment, setting up equipment and/or training the participant to use the equipment as a one-off transaction linked to the primary support", claimed as a secondary support with (or after) the primary item.

Note: fewer plans now include a low-cost AT allocation under Consumables, so confirm the participant's plan includes this funding before relying on Pathway B.

 

Classification Criteria Considerations

 

Points relevant to either pathway:

• Device cost: $1,490 - under the $1,500 low-cost AT threshold when claimed separately from delivery/setup

• Package cost: $2,490 - within the mid-cost AT band ($1,500-$15,000)

• Functional domains: supports personal care, positioning, transfers, and overnight safety

• Professional oversight: assessment of functional needs, safe command programming, calibration of bed positions in the context of transfer risk

• No structural modification: plug-and-play post-configuration; removable and portable; no home modification required

• Risk considerations: professional calibration ensures bed angles support safe transfers and positioning

 

Optional Ongoing Support

Where an optional support plan is clinically recommended (for example, where a participant has no informal supports able to assist with technology), it may be claimable as AT repairs and maintenance. The Code Guide provides for maintenance and repair of NDIS-funded environmental control systems under:

• Repairs and Maintenance - Communication, Cognitive or ECU AT - 05_502200312_0124_1_2 (Capital budget; the guide funds repair and maintenance for AT items costing more than $1,500)

The support plan is genuinely optional: the system operates without any subscription, and pay-as-you-go support is available if it is ever needed.

Item: 05_241303121_0123_1_2 - Environmental Control (ECU) / Safety-related Products + Delivery secondary support. Most participants will use this pathway.

The full $2,490 package (device + configuration + installation + training) may be funded from the participant's Capital - Assistive Technology budget:

• Mid-cost AT band ($1,500-$15,000): written evidence of suitability from a qualified AT assessor (e.g. OT) typically required

• The ECU support item is quote-required - a YourVoice quote accompanies the OT evidence

• Directly supports personal care, bed mobility, transfers and overnight safety

• Non-structural, removable, and portable

 

Pathway B - Low Cost AT (Core - Consumables)

Device: 03_090000911_0103_1_1 · Installation/training: 03_710930080_0103_1_1 (Delivery) - available where the plan includes a low-cost AT allocation.

Where the participant's plan includes low-cost AT funding under Consumables:

• The device ($1,490) is under the $1,500 low-cost AT threshold and may be claimed as Low Cost AT - Personal Care and Safety

• Configuration, installation and training ($1,000) may be claimed as the linked Delivery secondary support, which expressly covers set-up and participant training

• Neither item is subject to a price limit (notional $1.00 unit claiming applies)

• Self-managed and plan-managed participants can typically purchase directly without a service booking

Check first: low-cost AT allocations are becoming less common in new and reviewed plans.
