Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers about what YourVoice costs, how funding works, and what to expect.

1. How much does YourVoice cost?

YourVoice costs $2,490 as a single upfront payment - you own it outright and there are no ongoing fees required. That covers the device ($1,490), offsite configuration ($400) and onsite calibration and training ($600). If you don't already have a compatible smart speaker, an Amazon Echo can be added for $119.

2. Is YourVoice covered by the NDIS?

YourVoice may be funded by the NDIS when an occupational therapist assesses it as reasonable and necessary. It is most commonly funded as a mid-cost assistive technology item from the Capital budget, supported by written OT evidence and a quote. Where a plan includes a low-cost AT allocation, the device ($1,490) may instead be claimed as Low Cost AT with installation claimed as a linked delivery support. See our NDIS funding guide for details. (link to /ndis)

3. Can I use Support at Home (aged care) funding?

Yes - YourVoice may be funded under the Support at Home program's Assistive Technology and Home Modifications (AT-HM) scheme, following assessment and prescription by a health professional such as an OT. Installation, calibration and training are typically treated as wrap-around clinical supports with no participant contribution; a means-tested co-contribution may apply to the device itself. See our Support at Home guide. (link to /supportathome)

4. What other funding pathways are there?

Depending on your circumstances, YourVoice may also be funded through DVA (via the Rehabilitation Appliances Program), state motor accident schemes (such as TAC in Victoria, icare in NSW and NIISQ in Queensland), or workers' compensation. You can also purchase privately - no assessment required.

5. Which adjustable beds does YourVoice work with?

YourVoice works with most electric adjustable beds, and your existing handheld remote keeps working exactly as before - nothing is removed or replaced. Contact us with your bed's brand and model and we'll confirm compatibility before you commit.

6. Does it work with Alexa, Google Home and Siri?

Yes - YourVoice works with Amazon Alexa, Google Home and Apple HomeKit (Siri). We set up Amazon Alexa by default because entry-level Echo speakers are the most affordable option, but if you already have a Google or Apple smart home - or simply prefer one - we configure YourVoice to work with your system instead. If you have no smart speaker, an Amazon Echo can be added for $119.

7. Will it void my bed's warranty?

No. YourVoice works alongside your bed's existing control system rather than replacing or modifying it, and your original handheld remote remains fully functional.

8. How long does installation take?

Most of the work happens before we arrive - your system is pre-configured offsite so the technician arrives with a working device. The onsite visit covers installation, calibrating commands to your needs, end-to-end testing, and training you and your carer. We usually allow up to two hours so nothing is rushed and the system is fully calibrated to your requirements.

9. Do I need an OT assessment?

Only if you're seeking funding. NDIS, Support at Home, DVA and insurance pathways require a prescription from an occupational therapist or similar health professional - we can work with your OT and provide any product information they need. Private purchasers don't need an assessment.

10. What happens if the internet drops out?

Your original handheld remote always works, with or without internet - voice control simply resumes when your WiFi comes back. You are never locked out of adjusting your bed.

11. Do I need to pay for ongoing support?

No - the system operates without any subscription, and most users need no support after setup. Early issues, if any, almost always appear in the first 30 days and are covered by warranty. Optional support plans (1 year $800, 3 years $1,200, 5 years $1,600) are available for families who want extra peace of mind, and pay-as-you-go help is available to everyone else.

12. Where is YourVoice available?

Australia-wide. Standard installation pricing applies within our standard service areas; outside those areas a location-based surcharge may apply, priced on application.
